ABOUT WOMEN started in Chicago in April 2014. Each month there is a different topic. We discuss things like - - COMFORT ZONE: Being In IT & Getting Out Of It, COURAGE & CONFIDENCE: Finding It, DOUBTS: We All Have Them, OVERTHINKING: Why Do We Do It?, FEAR: Of Success, Of Failure, Of The Unknown, etc. Judgment-free. Safe space.

ABOUT WOMEN is making its way to New York City! Oh yeah!
CONFIDENCE: When we have it, we feel on top of the world. Like nothing can stop us. Then it has the ability to disappear in a heartbeat. We can't be confident all the time. That's not how these things work. Some days we have it. And some days we don't. Sometimes it depends on what we are wearing or what our hair is doing. Are we wearing makeup? Did I look at any fashion magazines lately? And then of course there are other factors such as our performance when we are at work. Or how about where we are in our place in life? Is it where you want to be? Are you nervous to take things to the next level? Relationships? Jobs? Love? Etc.
DOUBTS: Yeah, they suck. But here's the deal, we ALL have them. We ALL have that moment of questioning ourselves and what we are doing. Relationships. Jobs. Love. Life. I don't know, EVERYTHING! Sometimes I question, did I order the right food? Did I pick the right restaurant? Or what about those doubts we get about our BIG choices in life? Career path? Let's not forget The Impostor Syndrome - y'know that feeling that you don't belong. That feeling where we think someone is going to tap us on the shoulder and say, "You can go now, the smarter or more qualified person is here." Yeah, that feeling sucks too.
Please join us for an evening of convHERsation and some story telling too. Besides a convo, we'll hear personal stories from women that will share a personal tale on finding confidence through all the doubts. We'll talk about how to work WITH our doubts while finding our confidence.
The women that speak are not experts nor are they going to talk about how they are "cured" or "fixed" of anything. The goal of ABOUT WOMEN is that it's about learning from others, to not feel alone, and to hear different perspectives.

What is ABOUT WOMEN?
Part speaker series. Part convHERsation. LOTS of motivation. For women. By women.
These events are unique. It's kind of like a support group for being a woman. It's a place to not feel alone. It's also a networking event in disguise. I say "in disguise" because it's not like other networking events where the first thing you talk about is your job. We talk about being human beings and our struggles and our awesomeness and then sometimes our jobs are talked about. It's a place to connect. To find other women that get it. We laugh. Sometimes we even cry. And that's ok. Because this is a safe space. Questions are asked to the audience and we have a group convHERsation. Sometimes the women in the audience ask questions too. Of course, you don't have to answer if you don't want. No one will ever make you speak. It's casual. It's comfortable. It's motivational.
